Cafe at the Museum​

Cafe at the Museum is the place to relax!  Enjoy a delicious meal and a coffee while resting-a-while, catch-up with friends or just enjoy the relaxed atmosphere overlooking the Duck Ponds!

When it is hard to buy a gift for a special person, GIFT VOUCHERS are ideal, and are now available.

Small groups are welcome to book for a special occasion such as a baby shower, or a birthday celebration. Also for special functions:  Mother’s Day (2nd Sunday in May), Father’s Day (1st Sunday in Sept) and Grandparents Day (Last day in October).

Provision has been made by Gympie Regional Council for motorhome and caravan parking beside Lake Alford Park.

About Us

The Gympie Gold Mining and Historical Museum is operated by the Gympie & District Historical Society Inc, a wholly volunteer operated organisation, with the Museum development and operation the most significant of its objectives. The Society was formed in 1965 to establish the Museum on the site of the former No 2 South Great Eastern Mine which was the second richest mine on the Gympie Goldfields
