Markets

The Museum Markets, are located in the beautiful surroundings of the Museum Gardens with Lake Alford and it’s parks and picnic areas as a backdrop. At each of the Markets there will be added attractions, working displays and Special Deals. The Miniature Railway and Children’s Merry Go Round operating on some market days.
The Markets are held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of each month

About Us

The Gympie Gold Mining and Historical Museum is operated by the Gympie & District Historical Society Inc, a wholly volunteer operated organisation, with the Museum development and operation the most significant of its objectives. The Society was formed in 1965 to establish the Museum on the site of the former No 2 South Great Eastern Mine which was the second richest mine on the Gympie Goldfields
